Minecraft is a sandbox independent game originally created by Swedish developer Markus "Notch" Persson and then developed and published by the Swedish company Mojang. Creative Minecraft and construction features allow players to build constructions cube in 3D texture generated procedurally. Minecraft received five awards at the 2011 Game Developers Conference. The Game Developers Choice Awards, which won the Innovation Award, Award for Best Downloadable Game, and the Award for Best Debut Game; of the Independent Games Festival, it won the Audience Award and the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. In 2012, Minecraft has won the Golden Joystick Award in the category Best games. Since June 2015, more than 70 million copies have been sold, including 20 million between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One and 20 million PCs, [15] making it the best-selling PC game to date and the third best-selling video game of all time. The September 15, 2014, Microsoft announced an agreement to purchase the intellectual property ownership Mojang and Minecraft US $ 2.5 billion; the acquisition was completed on November 6, 2014.
